Sovereign Grace Church Planters, Inc. was born out of much prayer and a great need. One day, Pastor Ed Moore of North Shore Baptist Church in Bayside, Queens , New York, was overcome with sorrow as he saw the enormity of New York City and the drought of churches that believed and taught the doctrines of God's sovereign grace in salvation. Think about it – over 8 million people and 5,000 places of worship, and only a handful of them are doctrinally sound – thousands of sheep without a shepherd.
The need and the vision were clear, but the “how to” was not until Dr. D. A. Carson of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School suggested that we set up a corporation that could help fund the pastors and the church plants. It is our earnest desire that the sovereign God be glorified through the proclamation of His Word.
